Today was a pleasant day.
My son has decided to visit our ship when he's off (on breaks) from the Vulcan Science Academy. His job will be "computer scientist", as he's already proficient in that, while studying computer programming and physics in school. I'm happy he'll be part of us and nearby sometimes. As for his classes... in Physics, they received grades on the math assessment they were given in the first class. He scored a 67%, which he says was the highest in the class and second highest of any class. Still, seems unfair to make that a grade in the gradebook. It's gonna be harsh, but... hey, that's Vulcans for ya. And he's half-Vulcan.

Today, I also had the pleasure of greeting a new crew member, another Medical officer, although it was not under ideal circumstances, as she was in Sick Bay for a few days. But we had talked on comms a few times, and I had agreed to go pick her up when she was released, to take her to her quarters. Of course we got along famously and conversation flowed freely. I am happy to be around such pleasant people (obviously a rare situation). Our staff meeting will be in a bit over a week, and I will transport her there so she can meet more of the crew.
Now... I just gotta find a roommate for the Klingon Party! Oh, and an outfit still. And to inquire as to what's on the menu for the dinner...
